Hideo Itami teasing NXT return on Twitter

Hideo Itami is teasing his return to the ring and NXT in a not-so-subtle way

Anyone in touch with WWE and professional wrestling right now will tell you that NXT is one of the hottest brands in the industry, even as the third brand under the WWE umbrella. With the talent they’ve produced and guys like Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, and Shinsuke Nakamura still in NXT, it’s not surprising that the brand is so huge. However, one of the biggest signings in NXT’s history who has been out of action for over a year is now finally teasing his return: Hideo Itami.

On Friday night, Itami took to Twitter and, in a way that was about as subtle as a bull running through a china shop, teased his return to NXT coming very shortly:

Regardless of the situation, that Hideo Itami is coming back “soon” is a big deal for WWE and NXT. The guy was just coming into his own when he injured his shoulder over a year ago and was written off of TV by being attacked in the parking lot of the Performance Center.

What’s even better is that Hideo has a natural storyline as soon as he comes back. Because of how he was written off and the fact that his attacker was never revealed, he can come back right away, say who attacked him, and have a hot feud right from the jump.

Now the only question is when exactly “soon” means Hideo Itami will be returning. Given that the next TakeOver special is less than two weeks away, that seems like a possibility—though it could be at a taping soon after. Whenever it is, his return will be welcomed as he’s been greatly missed.
