Chelsea fans had to wake up to news that Jose Mourinho has been appointed by Manchester United.
Football fans woke up today to Manchester United officially announcing the appointment of Jose Mourinho. It was the worst kept secret in the world, seeing as how he was rumored to take the job ever since he was fired by Chelsea. Ultimately, a lot of teams’ fans that wish they had Mourinho as their manager are disappointed, but none more so than Chelsea fans.
Indeed, Chelsea Twitter was in a very sour mood, and the official club tried to wish their fans a good morning, presumably to lighten things up, but their tweet couldn’t have come at a worse time:
tell me what's good about it our best ever manager now works for one of out bitter rivals #sadday

One thing is for sure, those knocking those who said he wanted #MUFC while at and before rejoining #CFC were right.

He wanted it all along.
Mourinho: United has a mystique and romance no other club can match.

Fans of the club are certainly reeling since the only thing preventing Mourinho from going to Manchester United was if the Chelsea board didn’t fire him.
With six seasons spent over two different spells, Chelsea is the club that Mourinho has spent the most time with, so to have him describe Manchester United as having a “mystique and romance that no other club can match” is very off-putting to hear.
However, despite the disastrous season they just went through, things should be looking up for Chelsea. They are expected to have Antonio Conte as their new manager, who came off a very successful spell with Juventus and the Italian national team.
However, he’s joining a Premier League season that will see the likes of Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, and Jurgen Klopp all coaching together. If there was ever a time to be a Premier League fan, it’s right now.
