Chase Utley homers at Citi Field (Video)

Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley homered during a shower of boos against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

There isn’t an individual more loathed at Citi Field than Los Angels Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley.

After Utley’s slide into second base during the NLDS against the New York Mets last year, he has become enemy number one in New York. On Saturday night, tensions sparked again, when Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard got ejected for throwing behind Utley.

Every single time Utley came to the plate he was booed. However, it was Utley that got the last laugh on Saturday night.

As he came up to the plate in a tie game, Utley ripped a pitch straight out to right field for a home run and he put the Dodgers on top as a result.

There probably isn’t a worse feeling for a Mets fan than seeing Utley hit a home run to give his the lead. After all, they have been booing him relentlessly ever since his slide.

Alas, that’s just the way sports are sometimes and Utley had absolute nerves of steal at the plate in the process.
