Knowshon Moreno planning NFL comeback

Former first round pick Knowshon Moreno is planning a comeback to the NFL despite not playing since 2014.

Sometimes it’s really hard to know when something is over. It can apply to relationships and it can apply to professional athletes who don’t know when to say enough is enough and walk away from the game.

That would seem to be the case for Knowshon Moreno who has played for the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos during his NFL career since coming out of Georgia.

Moreno is planning on coming back to the NFL despite not playing since October of 2014 after tearing his ACL.

“I plan on coming back,” Moreno told TMZ earlier this week. “I feel good. I feel healthy. I’m fully recovered. So I’m just doing the things I have to right now, just staying in shape and seeing where that goes.”

Moreno had a career year with the Broncos in 2013 when he accounted for 1,586 yards and 13 touchdowns but it’s far-fetched to envision him being able to replicate that type of production after so much time away and after an ACL injury.

Those are two big strikes against Moreno, but he may get a chance because he’s still only 28 years old, and could have another good year or even two left in him.

Both the Broncos and Dolphins don’t have a proven stud at the running back position so Moreno is undoubtedly hoping for a chance to return to one of his two former teams.

However, barring an injury in training camp or the preseason, I think Moreno has about as much of a chance of playing in the NFL this year as I do.
