New York Mets honor 30th anniversary of 1986 World Series team (Video)

The New York Mets honored the 30th anniversary of their 1986 World Series team on Saturday night.

When a team wins a World Series, that team is likely going to be honored until the end of time. The 1986 New York Mets took home the World Series when they defeated the Boston Red Sox and ever since then, that team has been revered by all Mets fans for the talent on the team and the larger-than-life personalities.

With 30 years having since passed since that team won the World Series, the Mets decided to honor them on Saturday night, when they brought back members of that team before they took on the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The tribute was awesome as the greats of that team, such as Dwight Gooden all took the field again wearing their uniforms.

That’s the beauty of sports when tributes like these happen. The individuals on that Mets team are immortalized in history forever.

That team that won the World Series in 1986, consisted of a group of guys that would dominate in their era and provide some of the best moments of the time.
