Twitter reacted to Real Madrid’s 11th Champions League win.
Real Madrid set a milestone when they beat Atletico Madrid for the second time in three years in the Champions League Final. It was their 11th time winning the competition, and they did it in Zinedine Zidane’s first half-season in charge. The Frenchman has now won the Champions League both as a player and as a manager.
And as expected, Real Madrid’s win brought out the usual great reactions on Twitter:

Maybe biased here but this is one of the most undeserving title wins.Easiest possible route to the final and an average final win #uclfinal

Pepe, Benzema, Sergio Ramos & Marcelo are champions again. So nice to see good things happen to good people. #uclfinal

It can be debated whether Real Madrid was the better team on the night, but they capitalized on their chances, and had some lucky breaks go their way. Then again, you have to be good to be lucky, and Real were just good enough to win.
It wasn’t one of their best performances this season, and it certainly wasn’t better than their Decima win over Atletico in 2014, but Real are simply built for the Champions League.
It’s going to be interesting to see what direction they go in during the summer transfer window, and how this team is going to evolve under Zidane’s guidance. It can be argued that they would’ve won La Liga too had Rafa Benitez not been in charge during the first half of the season, so it’ll be worth seeing if they can reach that summit next year.
