Kevin Durant had a monster two-handed flush early in Game 6 off of a slick Russell Westbrook dime

Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder earned themselves a hefty advantage over the defending champion Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, going up 3-1 in the series. After losing on the road in Game 5, though, the Thunder had to think that they needed to come out of the gate at home and make a statement. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were more than happy to oblige.

Just two minutes into the action, Westbrook started attacking off of a pick-and-roll at the top of the key. He drove to the left side of the lane while Durant, who had screened on the opposite side, ran a delayed roll. Russ then found his teammate with a beautifully placed pass that Durant corralled and then rose up with to throw right back down with a monster two-handed dunk:

That’s certainly one way of going about sending a message if you’re Kevin Durant and the Thunder. The crowd definitely got even more energized off of that little number than they already were before.

Despite all of the things that are said about the Thunder, the future of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in OKC, and so on, there’s no denying the wonderful rapport that these two have on the hardwood. Whenever they are in-sync, they are truly something special to watch and this play to start Game 6 is only another example of that.
