Thanks to a unique social media campaign, a young Minnesota Vikings fan was surprised by a visit from up-and-coming quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

For many young fans, the opportunity to meet an athlete that they idolize is an experience they’ll never forget. Even if it’s just for a few seconds to get an autograph or picture, these are moments that stick. For 6-year-old Minnesota Vikings fan Obadiah Gamble, that athlete happened to be Teddy Bridgewater and his wish was for the quarterback to attend his birthday party.

The family knew they needed to come up with something create to get Teddy’s attention. As I result, they created a music video titled “Hey Teddy” that already has over 160,000 views and a Twitter page to further spread the word.

While Bridgewater wasn’t able to make it to the birthday party, he did still manage to surprise Obadiah at his house. The story doesn’t stop there, as Teddy spent two hours visiting with the family, playing catch with Obadiah, and even bringing with him a birthday cake for the birthday boy.

This story is a nice feel-good story about an up-and-coming quarterback who isn’t hesitant to show some love to his new community and embrace the love from the fans. According to a report from the Vikings’ website, Obadiah’s mother said, “Teddy is a class act. He’s gracious and kind. He was so present and so engaged, and he has a good sense of humor. Everything I heard about him was definitely true. Just a class act.”
