DraftKings Late MLB Picks For May 29

Six of the games make up the late slate on this Sunday, making this the smaller tournament of the day. There are still some stats to sort through, so let’s see who past history says will win us some money!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Archie Bradley, he of the 6.30 career ERA, has never faced the Padres. Do you trust him that much?

Best Bets:

Clayton Kershaw ($13,900):Ā Yeah, Kershaw dominates nearly everyone. So what? Well, he is tougher on the Mets than almost anyone else. The Mets are hitting a pathetic .138 in 109 at bats with just two extra base hits, four runs, and a whopping 36 strikeouts. Kershaw is expensive, but against the Mets, he will most likely be worth it.

Taijuan Walker ($9,300):Ā Walker has absolutely dominated the Twins so far in his career. The Twins are just 2-27(.074) with a solo homer (by Miguel Sano) off of him with nine strikeouts. The Twins have had Seattle’s number this series, but that likely ends here.

Honorable Mention:

Rich Hill ($10,500):Ā It’s a little tough to recommend Hill with a small sample size, but he also boasts a 2.18 ERA to go with his 7-3 record this year. The Tigers are only hitting .211 against Hill in 38 at bats with a homer and two RBI with 12 strikeouts. Hill looks like a strong bet, even against the Tigers.

Dark Horse:

Bartolo Colon ($7,400):Ā Yes, he is facing Clayton Kershaw, but he has held his own for the most part against the Dodgers. They are hitting .250 off of him in 156 at bats, but the five homers and 16 RBI aren’t that bad and the 30 strikeouts look pretty good. Still, his chances of winning are practically zero. That just reiterates how poor of low end options we have tonight.

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about ā€œstackingā€ pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.

The Rockies have actually hit Johnny Cueto pretty well, and this game is in Denver. Nolan Arenado ($4,900) is only 3-11, but he does have a solo homer. Carlos Gonzalez ($4,100) is 6-20 with a walk, a double, a homer and six RBI against Cueto. Gerardo Parra ($3,600) is 11-32(.344) with three walks, three doubles, two homers, and three RBI off of Cueto.

Chris Iannetta ($2,600) is 5-14(.357) with two doubles and five RBI against Ricky Nolasco. Seth Smith ($3,400) is 5-11(.455) with two walks, a homer, and two RBI against Nolasco. Nelson Cruz ($5,000) is 3-7 with a double, two homers, and three RBI against Nolasco. This looks like a good day to stack some Mariners!

Yes, the Braves offense has been a mess, but they are hitting a cool .370 in 108 at bats off of Tom Koehler. This could be one of the few times where stacking Braves can pay off. Freddie Freeman ($4,000) is 7-30(.233) with a walk, two doubles, a triple, a homer, and three RBI against Koehler. Nick Markakis ($3,600) is 9-14(.643) with three walks, two doubles, and four RBI against Koehler. A.J. Pierzynski ($3,000) is worth playing if he is in the lineup. A.J. is 8-17(.471) with a walk, a double, two homers, and five RBI off Koehler.

Brandon Crawford ($4,900) is 4-10 with a double, a homer, and two RBI against Chris Rusin. Matt Duffy ($4,600) is 4-13(.308) with a walk, a homer, and two RBI off Rusin. Buster Posey ($5,200) is 5-11(.455) with two walks, two doubles, and four RBI. How about Kelby Tomlinson ($4,300)? Tomlinson is 5-10 with two doubles and a solo homer off Rusin.

Miguel Cabrera ($5,100) is 4-6 against Rich Hill with the only homer and two RBI that Hill has ceded to the Tigers. Miggy is one worth playing.

Marcell Ozuna ($3,900) has been on fire anyway, but he has always hit Julio Teheran hard. Ozuna is 10-27(.370) with a double a homer, and four RBI off of Teheran. Giancarlo Stanton is just 4-27(.148), but he has homered twice off of Teheran.

Wellington Castillo and Paul Goldschmidt are a combined 6-13 with two walks, two doubles, two homers, and four RBI off of Drew Pomeranz.

Adrian Gonzalez ($3,500) is 12-27(.444) with two doubles, two homers, and three RBI against Bartolo Colon. Chase Utley ($4,200)Ā persona non grata of Queens, is 10-20 with two doubles, a homer, and three driven in against Colon.

Marcus Semien and Coco Crisp have both homered off of Mike Pelfrey with a combined five RBI in nine at bats.
