According to multiple sources in Italy, Dani Alves will sign a three-year deal with Italian champions, Juventus.
Juventus are coming off their fifth straight Serie A championship but refuse to rest on their laurels as they look for success in Europe. Last year they made it all the way to the UEFA Champions League final, where they were ultimately defeated by Barcelona at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Brazilian international Dani Alves featured in all 90 minutes of that match for the Catalans, as he played a big part in helping the club win the most prestigious trophy on the continent. The 33-year-old has been with the Blaugrana since 2008, making nearly 400 appearances for the club in all competitions over the past eight seasons. However, we may have seen the last of Alves in Spain.
The defender has the option to terminate his contact with Barcelona at the end of the current campaign, which would allow him to join any club on a free transfer as a free agent. Although the veteran is highly sought after by a plethora of clubs across Europe, Alves seems to have already made his decision as to where he will be plying his trade next season.
According to multiple reports across Italy, the Brazilian has opted to join Juventus. Football-Italia are suggesting that Alves will join the Bianconeri on a three-year deal that will see him earn €5 million a season.
After spending the last 14 years playing in La Liga with Sevilla and Barcelona, it would be the first time that Alves has ever played domestically in Italy.
