John Cena returns on WWE RAW, AJ Styles attacks him (Video)
After being out since early January, John Cena returned on the May 30 episode of WWE RAW
John Cena has been one of the biggest names in entertainment and obviously in WWE for over a decade in this point in his career. However, he’d been on the shelf with a shoulder injury on since early January. Sure, he made a surprise run-in during WrestleMania 32 at the start of April, but he hadn’t consistently been on the show in five months. That all changed on May 30 at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI as John Cena returned to action.
Cena came out to the ring and delivered a typical promo that you’d expect from him on Memorial Day about freedom and so on. However, the fireworks were yet to happen:
That’s when AJ Styles’ music hit, though, and the fans went bonkers. However, it seemed like it was all pleasantries as he welcomed Cena back.
However, The Club then came out and began to lambast AJ for “sucking up” to John Cena and looked like they were about to fight. When AJ and Cena both squared up, though, Styles turned on Cena and proceeded to beat him down viciously:
Sign me up for this feud.
Despite the fact that John Cena gets a bad rap because of how kid-friendly and hokey his character on WWE RAW and WWE programming is, it’s hard not to welcome him back in a moment like this. Things are getting wild in WWE right now and having the top guy in the company back to be a part of it is a welcomed site. And the fact that he’s going right into a feud with AJ Styles is going to be absolutely incredible.
Cue the trumpets again.
