NCAA Baseball Tournament 2016: Charlottesville Regional set
The Charlottesville Regional for the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament has been officially set.
On Monday, the 16 regional tournaments were officially set for the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament and now 64 teams will battle and put it all on the line for the chance to win the National Championship.
As each bracket was announced, teams awaited their fate to learn just where exactly they would be playing this years. One of those teams, the defending National Champions, the Virginia Cavaliers, will host the Charlottesville Regional.
With the No. 1 seed, Virginia will host No. 4 William & Mary, while No. 2 Bryant will play No. 3 East Carolina. The amount of small school flavor in this regional is strong, but it’s also a regional with plenty of talent spread out on the field and that should lead to some great games.
Will the Cavaliers be able to get through their own regional and advance to the super regional? Or will one of these schools knock them off and prove to be the foil that the defending National Champions weren’t expecting.
The only way to find out is when they take the field in Charlottesville, where four teams will become two and then ultimately one.
