When it comes to college baseball, there almost always seems to be a high sense of parity and the sense that any team can win on any given day or night. That’s one of the many reasons that the NCAA Baseball Tournament is one of the most exciting annual events in all of sports. However, this year feels like the parity is absolutely absurd and makes the tournament that much more interesting now that the brackets are set.
In terms of the top teams in the sport, there hasn’t been one team that has really run away from the pack. Though a team like the Florida Gators looked like they might be that team to separate themselves, they could never fully do so. Then there were the “mid-major” conferences that produces a bevy of high quality teams this year. That all makes the tournament all the more exciting and one of the most exciting regions is the Starkville Regional.

Things certainly have the potential to get a bit hectic in the Starkville Regional of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Not only is Louisiana Tech a quietly dangerous team, but Cal State Fullerton is a college baseball powerhouse as a No. 2 seed in the region. It’ll be interesting to see how things play out for them and to see if they can usurp the hosts in the Bulldogs.
