Ex-NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel has gone missing in New York and his friends are fearing for his safety.
Things have gotten even weirder and scarier for former NFL quarterback and first-round pick Johnny Manziel. We’ve seen him go off the deep end in recent months after being cut by the Browns and cast out of the NFL until he gets his life together.
That clearly hasn’t been happening, as recent weeks have sen photos of a frail, thin and unhealthy looking Manziel surface as he parties away in Vegas and other locations.
Now according to Page Six, Manziel got into a fight in SoHo on Friday and has since gone missing.
While there’s a million Home Alone 2 jokes to make here, this isn’t a laughing matter. Manziel has gone from a guy who was an anti-hero of sorts to a man with serious mental issues that no one who hasn’t gone through something like that can even try to understand.
There will be a million think pieces about addiction — mostly by dopes who have never gone through it themselves but want to feel socially conscious about themselves — but this is no more than ever about someone who needs help.
Manziel going missing in New York isn’t something worthy of jokes or commentary. It’s a situation that calls for us to stop being holier than thou and either help this kid get his life together before he loses it or stay out of the way.
