Looking at the updated NBA Playoffs bracket now that the NBA Finals are set with the Warriors advancing

The Golden State Warriors entered the 2016 NBA Playoffs as the favorites and defending champions. Even as they went into the Western Conference Finals against a rolling Oklahoma City Thunder team, the Warriors were still the favorites. After four games in the West Finals, though, the Thunder were up 3-1 in the series and it looked like every narrative was getting flipped. However, the defending champs didn’t go quietly.

Taking it one game at a time, the Warriors started in Game 5 by using a strong overall team effort to fight with the Thunder at Oracle Arena and feed off of their home crowd to get a victory and not go home just yet. They then used a late collapse by the Thunder in Game 6 in addition to a historic shooting effort from Klay Thompson to force a decisive Game 7.

On Monday night in that Game 7, things were going back and forth throughout the contest until the NBA MVP in Stephen Curry finally got his life together and played like the leader and best player in the league. That was enough to propel them through to the NBA Finals.
