Kings’ Darren Collison arrested on domestic violence charges
Sacramento Kings point guard Darren Collison was arrested on domestic violence charges.
According to CBS Sacramento, Darren Collison was reportedly arrested on domestic violence charges and booked on one count of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant and a bench warrant of driving while his license was revoked.
The point guard for the Sacramento Kings point guard was booked at Placer County Jail in California. He has been one of the more underrated point guards in the NBA in recent years and seemingly one of the more mild-mannered and fan-friendly personalities in the game.
To say this is shocking news would be an understatement.
The information is coming in and the Kings are in the process of gathering all the facts but released a statement on Tuesday.
“We’ve been made aware of the situation,” the Kings said in a statement Tuesday, according to the report. “The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information, and once all facts are known, we will take appropriate steps.”
This arrest could put into question Collison’s roster spot and his future in the league could be tenuous depending on the details of this arrest.
There should be a zero-tolerance when it comes to domestic violence and violence against women, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Kings react to this arrest.
