Reporters tried to question Steph Curry’s toughness to Steve Kerr, and he shot them down beautifully.
If the Golden State Warriors were going to win Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, they needed their MVP to respond. And respond Steph Curry did when he posted 36 points and shot 7 of 12 from beyond the arc to return to form.
His performance was more than enough to get the Warriors back to the Finals, but some people are wondering why he didn’t play like that throughout the series. If he did, it wouldn’t have taken the Warriors seven games to win.
Curry isn’t exactly the most intimidating looking player in the league, but when coach Steve Kerr was asked about his MVP’s toughness, this is what he had to say in response:
I mean, Curry didn’t get the nickname “the baby-faced assassin” for nothing. And despite what people say about his performance earlier in this series, he didn’t exactly disappear:
Steph set the record for made 3s in a series with 32 vs. OKC. Klay also broke the record with 30. (Was 28.)

How you supposed to beat that?
But the fact that Kerr responded to questions over Curry’s mental toughness like that, without pulling any punches with his best player, demonstrates the type of tight bond that the Warriors have.
Steve Kerr is the best coach in the NBA, and not just for basketball reasons.
