DraftKingsĀ Late MLB Picks For June 1

There are 11 night games on Wednesday, which makes this the larger tournament of the day. There are a lot of stats to go through, and a few good options. Let’s find out what the past stats say!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Michael Fulmer has never faced the Angels, but he has given up only one run combined in his last two starts. Will that continue in Anaheim?

Adam Conley has never faced the Pirates, but do you trust him after giving up eight runs in just 9.2 innings in his last two starts?

John Lamb has never faced the Rockies, but he has a 6.85 ERA, the game is at Coors Field, and the Rockies put up two touchdowns and a field goal on the Reds yesterday. Just how lucky do you feel?

Best Bets:

Felix Hernandez ($11,000):Ā King Felix has held the Padres to a .212 average over 118 at bats wish just one homer (by Jemile Weeks, who is on the DL), three RBI, and 33 strikeouts. Don’t be surprised if the King is the king of points in DraftKings tonight, at least as far as pitchers go.

Masahiro Tanaka ($10,400): Tanaka has held the Blue Jays to a .198 average over 116 at bats with three homers, nine RBI, and an impressive 36 strikeouts. Perhaps more impressive is just who he has kept in check. Josh Donaldson is just 2-16 against Tanaka, but he does have one of the homers. Jose Bautista is just 5-22, but he has also taken him deep……and struck out seven times.

Honorable Mention:

Max Scherzer ($13,200): Scherzer has pitched well against the Phillies in his career. The Phils are only hitting .201 against Scherzer in 149 at bats with three homers, ten RBI, and 40 strikeouts. He may give up a run or two, but the win potential is high, and so are the strikeouts. That still makes him one of the better options tonight.

Aaron Sanchez ($8,500):Ā Sanchez has done well against the Yankees so far in his career. The Pinstripers are only 10-50 against Sancehez with two homers, six RBI, and as many strikeouts as hits. It wont be easy against Tanaka, but this could be a low scoring game in which both pitchers put up good numbers. Tanaka is a little more of a sure thing, but you have to pay a premium to use him.

Dark Horse:

Matt Shoemaker ($7,100): Shoemaker has been brilliant over his last two outings, the most recent coming against a good Baltimore lineup. Tonight he gets a Tigers lineup that is only hitting .135 off of him in 52 at bats with only one run scored and 11 strikeouts. Don’t be surprised if Shoemaker scores in the high 20’s, making him a great option at this price.

Next: Who Are The Best Stacks?

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about ā€œstackingā€ pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.

If Giancarlo Stanton ($4,700) is able to return tonight, make sure you get him in there against Jon Niese. Stanton is 12-29(.414) with two walks, a double, four homers, and eight RBI against Niese. Marcell Ozuna ($5,100) is 5-12(.417) with two doubles and two RBI. Chris Johnson ($2,600) is 10-27(.370) with a walk, three doubles, and three RBI against Niese. J.T. Realmuto hit a two run homer off of Niese for his only hit in five at bats.

The Royals punished Drew Smyly last night, now they get to face Chris Archer, whom they have also punished in his career. The Royals are hitting .391 against Archer in 64 at bats. Kendrys Morales ($3,000) is 7-11(.636) with three doubles, a homer, and four RBI against Archer. Lorenzo Cain ($4,200), who is already in fire, is 3-4 with a double, a homer, and three RBI against Archer. Alcides Escobar ($3,100) is 7-9 with a double against Archer. Jarrod Dyson ($3,100) is only 2-7, but he has a homer and two driven in.

David Ortiz ($5,500) is 3-5 with two homers and three RBI against Mike Wright. Dustin Pedroia ($4,700) is 2-5 with with a homer and two driven in against Wright. Mookie Betts is only 1-3 with a RBI double, but he homered three times last night. Why not play him again?

Next: More Notes For 5-31

Odubel Herrera ($3,200) is about the only Phillie that has had any sustained success against Max Scherzer. Herrera is 5-16(.313) with four walks, a double, a triple, and a RBI against him.

Edwin Encarnacion ($3,900) is 7-16(.438) with a walk, two doubles, a homer, and two RBI off of Masahiro Tanaka. What makes that more impressive is the fact that the team as a whole is under the Mendoza line against Tanaka.

Carlos Beltran ($3,900) is 2-5 with a homer and four RBI against Aaron Sanchez. Is there any Blue Jay that Beltran can’t hit? Okay….there is one: Marcus Stroman.

It isn’t much, but Kelby Tomlinson ($3,000) is 2-3 with three RBI off of Williams Perez.

Pedro Alvarez ($3,400) is 5-16(.313) with six walks, a double, a homer, and four RBI against Joe Kelly from their days in the NL Central. Chris Davis ($4,600) is 5-10 with two walks, a double, a homer, and two RBI off of Kelly.

Paul Goldschmidt ($4,800) is 3-8 with a walk, two doubles, a homer, and two RBI against Mike Fiers. Yasmany Tomas ($3,100) is 2-3 with a solo homer off Fiers.

Christian Friedrich has been nothing short of brilliant so far this year, but Kyle Seager ($4,300) is 5-6 with two homers and five RBI against him.

Alexei Ramirez ($2,400) is 10-33(.303) with two doubles and two RBI off of King Felix. That is the only Padre I would even consider tonight.

I know this is a small sample and all, but Brandon Guyer ($4,300) is a perfect 3-3 with a solo homer against Danny Duffy.

Carl Crawford ($2,700) and Howie Kendrick ($3,400) have plenty of experience against Jon Lester from their days on the Junior Circuit. Crawford is 10-36(.278) with four walks, a double, and two RBI against Lester. Kendrick is 7-25(.280) with a walk, four doubles, and five RBI against Lester.
