Joe Buck: Mr. steal your girl
Don’t leave your girl alone around Joe Buck.
Noted sports broadcaster Joe Buck is one of the best at his craft, having called numerous Super Bowls and countless World Series games for over a decade. Born the son of Hall of Fame broadcaster Jack Buck, it was simply in his blood to become the voice of the big game.
However, Buck’s most finely tuned, if not most impressive skill might be his unique ability to make a woman who thought he was “smug” and “arrogant” to fall in love with and marry him in the span of roughly 18 months.
According to Bryan Curtis of The Ringer, back in the fall of 2012 Buck asked his good friend Rich Eisen to get him in touch with then Denver Broncos cheerleader Michelle Beisner. Now a broadcaster herself with ESPN, Beinser wishfully pleaded, “Please don’t say it’s Joe Buck” when first contacted by Eisen.
Of course it was, but here’s the most shocking obstacle on this wild path of true love: Beisner had a boyfriend at the time. Buck was not deterred in the slightest and reportedly told his future wife, “Still live with that boyfriend of yours? Well, that’s dumb.”
Beisner quickly became single thereafte,r and the two later married in April of 2014. The marriage is Buck’s second after 18 years with his first wife, Ann Archambault.
While Joe Buck is generally viewed as a dorky and pompous character by those regularly tuning into his broadcasts, he must have some serious romantic abilities to “woo” a former NFL cheerleader seven years his younger.
It must be his supreme confidence, whether you consider it rightly deserved or extremely misplaced.
