C. Kansas. Cheick Diallo . 27. player. 81.
After scarcely seeing the floor during his lone season at Kansas, big man Cheick Diallo impressed NBA scouts during the draft combine by excelling in the five-on-five games. It should come as no surprise, though, that a player with Diallo’s motor and athleticism was successful in such an unstructured environment. His struggles at Kansas had little to do with the energy he brought to the court and a lot to do with his ability to execute on both ends of the floor.

Still, Diallo is an incredibly talented prospect who has the potential to be a strong rebounder and rim protector on the defensive end and an effective pick-and-roll player on offense. While he’s just 6-9, his wingspan measures nearly 7-5. In his limited minutes, he collected 13.5 rebounds per 40 minutes for the Jayhawks and posted a block rate of 11.9 percent. Beyond his pick-and-roll offense, Diallo has occasionally flashed a decent mid-range jumper that could allow him to expand his offensive game.

With Bismack Biyombo likely to enter free agency this summer, where he will command a rather large contract, Diallo, who could develop along a similar trajectory, would be a pleasant consolation prize.

To read more about Cheick Diallo, <a href=
