3. 76ers can start winning some games

Make no mistake about it, a deal like this for the 76ers is all about adding wins to the roster. If the team makes a deal like this, then it means that they feel like they have tanked enough and can start putting out a serious roster on the floor every night that can compete for wins.

While adding just Jeff Teague won’t vault the 76ers into a team that will compete for a spot in the playoffs, it will make them a team that can learn how to win together and make a little bit of noise on the court together as their core grows.

Teague has experience winning on the court in Atlanta and he’s a player that can maybe teach some of the other guys on the 76ers how to win, because of his propensity to hit some big shots late in crucial games.

This is a move that doesn’t have to result in the playoffs for the 76ers, but it’s a move that is about changing philosophies and moving from one phase to the next one. Long gone are the days of the team intentionally trading to talent to get worse and pick up lottery balls.
