Muhammad Ali has been sent to the hospital for a respiratory issue, although he is said to be in fair condition.

The greatest boxer of all-time, Muhammad Ali’s time on Earth may be coming to an end. ABC News reported earlier today that he is in a hospital with a heart problem, but is in fair condition:

It is surreal to see, given that when Ali was in his prime, everyone thought that he was invincible. Even well after he finished competing, he was immortalized countless times over. But this latest incident is just proof that he is a human, and will face the end just like the rest of us.

There is no greater pillar of the sport of boxing than Muhammad Ali, and when his end comes, there will no doubt that the tributes will soon pour in. In fact, many people have already provided their well wishes to the former heavyweight great:

He has provided some of boxing’s most unforgettable moments, including his shocking wins over Sonny Liston, his unforgettable trilogy with Joe Frazier, and when he fought George Foreman in the Congo in what is now known as the Rumble in the Jungle.

Guys like Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson have tried to replicate Ali’s brash attitude and personality both in and out of the ring, but nobody has come close. Boxing is an institution, a sport that has been around for centuries, but when all is said and done, there is nobody who’s more synonymous with it than Ali.
