Coastal Carolina Chanticleers vs. St. Mary’s Gaels

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have been one of the best mid-major college baseball teams all year. However, it wasn’t enough for them to earn a regional host spot and now they’ll go into the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament as the No. 2 seed in the Raleigh Regional. Their tourney will get underway on Friday afternoon as they take on the St. Mary’s Gaels out of the West Coast Conference in what could be an intriguing matchup.

Just based on what we’ve seen from both Coastal Carolina and St. Mary’s throughout the regular season, the Chanticleers should win this matchup and might even be favorites in the region. That being said, the beauty of the NCAA Baseball Tournament is that anything can happen. That’s what the Gael’s will be preaching throughout the locker room all week as they hope to topple a Coastal Carolina team that lost just 15 games on the year.

This first game in the Raleigh Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament will be broadcast on ESPN3 with live streaming through WatchESPN, which can be accessed online by logging in online or through the ESPN app using a cable or satellite subscription.
