South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Rhode Island Rams

One of the perennial powerhouses in college baseball over the past decade or so has been the South Carolina Gamecocks. In the highly competitive and dominant SEC, the Gamecocks have managed to stay relevant year after year. They’re back at it again hosting the Columbia Regional in the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament and will start their hopeful run through the College World Series on Friday against the Rhode Island Rams at Carolina Stadium.

South Carolina will be sending Second-Team All-Sec member Clarke Schmidt onto the mound on Friday and will look for him to lead the way like he did in the regular season. Rhode Island isn’t going to go without a whimper, but the coaching and overall skill of South Carolina looks like it might just be too much for them to handle.

This game on Friday will be broadcast on ESPN3 and will be available for live stream via WatchESPN, which can be accessed either online or through the ESPN app using a login from a cable or satellite subscription.
