Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s reaction to the passing of Muhammad Ali.

The world mourns the loss of social activist, religious and cultural activist Muhammad Ali who passed away at the age of 74 on Friday evening. Ali was admitted to the hospital on Thursday with a respiratory illness before succumbing in the late evening.

Saturday saw a flood of tributes, remembrances and other fond memories of Ali on the Internet, including one message from Donald Trump who used an exclamation mark for some reason to say that Ali had passed away.

He called him a great champion and a wonderful guy who will be missed by all, but is this just lip service from the noted xenophobe?

This may mark the first positive remarks Trump has made about a Muslim.

Ali famously converted to Islam and changed his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali during the height of his boxing career.

Trump has been very anti-Muslim during his campaign, even going so far as to prevent any other Muslims from entering the country.

Considering this country was founded by immigrants, that sounds like just the type of person who should be running this country. Trump also had some interesting comments in reference to president Barack Obama during a speech in December that referenced that Muslins are our sports heroes. Trump wasn’t sure what sport or what athletes he was talking about and accused Trump of religious profiling.

Maybe Trump who thinks he’s one of the smartest people on the planet wasn’t smart enough to realize that Ali is one of the greatest athletes to ever live and in fact was Muslim.

Yes, he’s a hero to many Caucasians and many Christians and now Trump is pretending like he cares to curry some favor with the American public whose vote he’s trying to win.
