DraftKings Late MLB Picks For June 4

There are six night games tonight, which makes this the smaller tournament of the day. There are a lot of stats to go through, and a few good options. Let’s find out what the past stats say!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Best Bets:

Clayton Kershaw ($14,100):Ā Kershaw’s past stats against the Braves are…..well…..human. Which is not something associated with Kershaw very often. In fact, Kershaw yielded ten hits to the Braves in Atlanta back on April 21st. That raised the Braves’ average against Kershaw to .240 in 104 at bats with two homers and seven RBI. What still makes Kershaw an elite option is the 35 strikeouts. And the fact that he has a 0.65 WHIP on theĀ season. Bet against Kershaw if you want, but past stats be damned, he is still anchoring my team.

Nathan Karns ($6,900):Ā Karns has dominated the Rangers so far in his career. The Rangers are hitting just .179 off of him in 28 at bats wish just a solo home run (by Josh Hamilton, who is on the DL) and eight strikeouts. The numbers say that Karns could have a great game tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Jeff Samardzija ($10,200):Ā The Cardinals are hitting a healthy .283 against Samardzija in 92 at bats, but it is mostly fluff. They have not hit a home run, have just five extra base hits, and have only scored five runs, all while striking out 16 times. There is risk involved with that many base runners, but so far Samardzija has limited the damage.

Ian Kennedy ($8,300):Ā Kennedy has given up 10 hits in 28 at bats (.357) with two homers and 11 RBI to the suspended Marlon Byrd. The rest of Cleveland is a combined 14-62(.226) with one homer and three RBI with 16 strikeouts. Those numbers are good enough to consider using Kennedy.

Dark Horses:

Tyler Wilson ($4,700):Ā The Yankees are hitting a paltry .172 off of Wilson, and he gave up only two earned run in six innings against the Yankees back on May 4th. He wont wow you with strikeouts (only 5 in 29 at bats), but if he is limiting damage and getting outs, he could help you. Especially when you consider Baltimore’s stats against Ivan Nova.

Bud Norris:Ā Mike Foltynewicz was placed on the disabled list, so Bud Norris will get a spot start. His price is not in the DraftKings tournaments yet , but he will be cheap, and the Dodgers have only hit .182 off of Norris in 55 at bats with a homer, four RBI, and 15 strikeouts. All of the counting stats were provided by Andre Ethier, who is in the DL. Don’t count on Norris for a win, but he could be a great value.

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about ā€œstackingā€ pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.

The Royals are hitting .320 off of Josh Tomlin, so you know there are some stacks in there. Lorenzo Cain ($4,900) is 6-16(.375) with two doubles and two RBI off Tomlin. Jarrod Dyson ($3,800) is 5-14(.357) with two triples and a RBI. Alcides Escobar ($3,400) is 7-28(.275) with three triples and four RBI. Fortunately for Tomlin, Alex Gordon, Salvador Perez, and Mike Moustakas are all out. They are a combined 29-74(.392) with three homers and 14 RBI.

The Orioles have crushed 13 homers off of Ivan Nova already. You know there is stack material here! Chris Davis ($4,500) is 9-29(.310) with three walks, two doubles, three homers, and ten RBI against Nova. Adam Jones ($3,600) is only 8-40, but he has a homer and five RBI. See if Ryan Flaherty ($2,900) makes the starting lineup. He is 4-11 with a homer and two RBI off of Nova. Mark Trumbo ($5,000) is 9-16(.563) with a walk, a double, two homers, and four RBI. Matt Wieters ($3,900) is 12-35(.343) with six walks, three doubles, four homers, and seven RBI against Nova.

Charlie Blackmon, Gerardo Parra, Nolan Arenado, DJ Lemahieu, and Charlie Blackmon are all hitting well over .300 against Andrew Cashner. Blackmon is the only one to hit a homer off of him, but getting on base counts too.

Next: More Notes For 6-3

Nelson Cruz ($5,400) is 3-4 with a walk, a double, and a solo homer against Martin Perez already. Kyle Seager ($5,200) is 10-22(.455) with a walk, three homers, and five RBI against Perez.

Yadier Molina ($2,400) is 10-20 with a walk, a double, and three RBI against Jeff Samardzija. Matt Adams ($2,900) is 4-7 with a pair of doubles.

Freddie Freeman ($2,800) is 3-12 with three walks and a solo homer off of Clayton Kershaw. If you are brave enough to use any Brave against Kershaw, it should be Freeman.
