Muhammad Ali’s daughter Hana issues a statement revealing that her father fought until the very end.
The entire world is grieving over the loss of Muhammad Ali, but nobody is more affected by his loss than his family. Through it all, it was his family that knew him the most and supported him throughout everything he did.
All of Muhammad Ali’s children loved him dearly. One of his daughters, Hana Ali, is an author and contributor for CNN.com. And in Ali’s final minutes on Earth, with his family by his hospital bed, Hana revealed how her father kept fighting his condition in a touching statement:
If there’s ever a dignified way to go out, it’s like this. Ali spent his final moments by his loved ones, and passed away peacefully. Given the type of persona he’s carved himself out to be, it was poetic to see him refuse to go down without a fight.
While Muhammad Ali conquered many things in life, he could never conquer Parkinson’s. But even though it was a losing battle, he still fought the disease until the end. As the disease grew worse, his public appearances dwindled down, and it got to the point where he couldn’t talk anymore. It was hard to see him look like a shell of himself over the past few years.
Ali’s family is glad to see his battle with Parkinson’s end, as well as have the satisfaction that he’s in a better place now.
