Nebraska and Western Carolina will meet in an elimination game in the NCAA Baseball Tournament on Saturday.
Two teams looking for answers will meet on Saturday in the Clemson Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament, and the one that finds less of them will be going home.
Nebraska was blanked in its first game, giving up two runs in the first inning to Oklahoma State and mustering just six hits en route to a 6-0 loss.
Western Carolina can at least say they scored some runs — 10 in fact. The Catamounts were actually up 6-0 after the top of the third inning against Clemson, but the Tigers promptly scored 10 runs in their own half of the third and plated 14 more before the game was over.
Saturday’s game is then shaping up as a battle between a stoppable force and a movable object, with Western Carolina pitchers hoping to give up less than the seven homers they surrendered Friday and Nebraska needing to get the bats going. The loser is done for the year, while the winner goes on to play the loser of the Clemson-Oklahoma State game Sunday afternoon.
