Miss USA 2016 results: Who was crowned?

The Miss USA pageant was on tonight, but who won?

Each year, we all get obsessed with one of the biggest beauty pageants in the world — but not the universe. There can only be one Miss Universe, but on the road to getting there, we need to find out who will be crowned as Miss USA.

Last year we saw Olivia Jordan win the crown of Miss USA, but the journey of the winner doesn’t end with getting crowned in this leg of the competition. Sure, being crowned Miss USA is a huge deal and something that will make your name timeless — not really, but it’s all in the sale.

The winner ended up being Miss District of Columbia, Deshauna Barber.

The real question is how long will this streak for the winner last? There have only been three Miss USA winners who have then gone on to be crowned Miss Universe and only one since 1997.

Can we see that streak broken and the drought we’ve been in since Olivia Culpo won back in 2012 lifted?

That’s all in the future, but for now we can just rest easy knowing that another truly, massively and extremely important beauty pageant is in the books and the world is now such a better place because of it.
