1) He’ll be a prime player on a title contender

The list of Heisman contenders is typically made up of top players from major conference title contenders, particularly those from the SEC. Last year’s race between Henry and McCaffrey was very close statistically, but the former could have received an important boost due to the fact he played for champion Alabama rather than Stanford.

A similar season could unfold for Scarbrough, giving him a solid shot at the Heisman Trophy. Alabama is always in the hunt for the College Football Playoff under Saban, and the Crimson Tide could open the season ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll.

Scarbrough will have a chance to make an impression right away, which could leave a lasting impact on the voters. Even in a loaded opening weekend, the eyes of the nation will be on the contest between the Crimson Tide and Trojans in the 2016 Cowboys Classic on September 3.

After that, Scarbrough will get a crack at the defenses of the SEC West, including a huge road matchup in Baton Rouge on Nov. 5. Putting up a huge season against such a tough schedule would certainly generate some attention for Scarbrough in the Heisman race.

A focal point of the Alabama offense is always going to warrant Heisman consideration, and Scarbrough has enough potential to run away with the award by the end of the season.
