High Value OF

Rajai Davis-Cleveland Indians (3,200): Davis has been the regular leadoff hitter for The Tribe and enters tonight’s contest hitting .256 with five homers, 23 RBI, and a dozen stolen bases.  Davis got the day off Friday and returned with three hits on Saturday totaling 13 fantasy points. He was held hitless yesterday, but will look to find success tonight against James Paxton (1-3, 3B in his career) as the Indians head West to face the M’s at SafeCo.

Ryan Rua-Texas Rangers (2,900): The Rangers outfield has been extremely productive lately thanks to some young prospects answering the call.  Ryan Rua has been one of them and is hitting a sizzling 6-14 (.429) since his call-up.  He is coming off a pair of multi-hit games before sitting out Sunday, but I expect him to be back in the lineup tonight as the Rangers take on the Astros.  His lack of track record makes him risky, but he’s worth a look if he gets the start tonight.

Odubel Herrera-Philadelphia Phillies (2,900): Herrera is a boom-or-bust play tonight against the Cubs, but he is coming off a four-hit game yesterday when he totaled 21 fantasy points against the Brewers.  He is taking on Jon Lester and the Cubs tonight in a tough matchup especially since he is hitting just .245 against lefties (as opposed to .342 vs RHP). Herrera does consistently play against lefties, though, so he could be a nice against-the-grain play if he can continue his success from yesterday.

Nick Markakis-Altanta Braves (2,900): If you decide to punt an OF spot, Markakis is a name to check out as he and the Braves face Christan Friedrich and the Padres.  Even though it’s a lefty-lefty matchup, Markakis has managed to go 2-2 in his career against Friedrich and the Padres Southpaw is actually allowing lefties to hit .375 against him this season (6-16, HR, 4 RBI). Makakis has shown some signs of life at the plate lately going 11-34 over his last nine games including a 3-4 game yesterday in LA. The Braves typically don’t score a lot of runs so RBI and R can be few and far between, but Markakis is a fixture in the middle of the lineup and should be able to give you something in the late game tonight if you go ultra-cheap at an OF spot.
