Jim Mora, UCLA reach agreement on two-year contract extension

Jim Mora and the UCLA Bruins have reached an agreement on a two-year contract extension
Monday it was Auburn’s Gus Malzahn that received a generous contract extension from his school, and on Tuesday it was Jim Mora’s turn. The UCLA Bruins officially announced on Tuesday that they and Mora have come to an agreement on a two-year extension that will take him through the 2021 season.
Mora has been the head coach of the Bruins football team since the 2012 season and he’s collected himself a record of 37-16 during that time. He led the Bruins to two straight 10-win seasons between 2013-14, but they were a disappointing 8-5 in 2015. However, things are looking up with a good recruiting class coming in once again and stud quarterback Josh Rosen getting ready to enter his second season at the helm.
Whether or not Mora will actually make it through this extension in 2021 remains to be seen, because sooner rather than later he’s going to have to bring a Pac-12 title to Westwood. His Bruins team made an appearance in 2012, and while his teams have been heavily hyped, they have yet to make it back to that big conference stage to this point.
However, Athletic Director Dan Guerrero and the administration apparently seem positive about the future if they were able to work this deal out with their head coach. UCLA is one of the favorites in the conference heading into the season, so Mora will have a chance to justify this new deal right off the bat.
UCLA and Mora will open up the 2016 college football campaign on Sept. 3 in a pretty big showdown as they will take on Texas A&M in College Station to get things started.
