With LeBron James and the Cavaliers down two games in the NBA Finals, the star has no time for comparisons to other legends of the sport.
With Game Three of the 2016 NBA Finals coming on Wednesday, it’s pretty safe to say that the Cleveland Cavaliers have officially hit ‘do or die’ mode in their series with the Golden State Warriors.
After Sunday’s Game Two thrashing at the hands of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and the rest of the Warriors (a 33 point loss that wasn’t even that close), the pressure is more and more on the shoulders of LeBron James, who is still searching for his first title with his hometown team.
With Cleveland seemingly in trouble, everyone is throwing in their two cents about what James and the Cavs should do. One of those is 11-time NBA champion coach Phil Jackson, who said LeBron should be more like Michael Jordan was during those six titles won with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990’s.
LeBron James’s response? I got this all on my own:
"Phil Jackson says LeBron has to come to the rescue much like Jordan did for the BullsHow will LeBron respond?https://t.co/X9HZJ48SkL— FOX Sports Ohio (@FOXSportsOH) June 7, 2016"
It’s easy for Jackson or anyone else from that Bulls team to talk smack about what other teams should do, but besides their first title win over the Los Angeles Lakers in 1991, Jackson and Jordan didn’t have to face a complete team like the Warriors squad that LeBron has to face for the next two games (maybe three if they’re lucky).
Phil Jackson might worry more about making that New York Knicks a better team than what LeBron should be doing, since LBJ is actually in the playoffs.
