NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had a good natured response to the NFL Network’s Twitter account being hacked and saying he died.

For a brief moment, the sports world was wondering what the heck was going on Tuesday. Those fans of the NFL on Twitter were shocked to see a tweet announcing that the commissioner of the league, Roger Goodell, was dead at the age of 57.

There was just one problem … Goodell wasn’t in fact dead and was alive and playing golf that day. The league admitted that the account was hacked and confirmed that the commish was still breathing.

After the announcement that Goodell was still among those alive, the commissioner had some fun with the issue on his own Twitter account and took a subtle shot at the television network that he runs:

Now, plenty of us in the sports press have taken shots at Goodell for the variety of evil, stupid, moronic, backwards things he has done since taking control of the league a decade ago. But I think I can speak for most of us when I say that we never wanted him dead — just out of a job.

I also don’t want to point fingers, but has anyone checked to see if the IP address that did the hacking came from somewhere in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from a user with the screen name of “TBrady12” or “Hoodie4titles”? It’s just a hunch that they may have had something to do with it.
