Report: Johnny Manziel is prepping to play football again

According to a report, Johnny Manziel’s lawyer is saying the quarterback is getting ready to play football again.

As each day goes by, the seemingly downward spiral of quarterback Johnny Manziel continues. Whether it’s been looking unhealthy, the constant partying and being kicked out of bars for fighting, Manziel’s offseason to date has not been a good one.

While the quarterback has a long road back to the NFL and needs to worry about taking control of his life, it appears that the quarterback has his mind on football again. Johnny Manziel’s lawyer, Jim Darnell, told ESPN’s Jeremy Darnell, that the quarterback is beginning to prep for to play football for the upcoming season, although recognizes that a 2017 return is more likely for the quarterback.

"“His immediate plans are to start getting ready for football,” said Manziel’s attorney Jim Darnell. “We’re working on it.”"

Manziel was released by the Cleveland Browns in the offseason and with his ongoing misdemeanor assault case, it could be a while before a team gives Manziel another chance.

The quarterback has yet to show any signs of improvement and he clearly needs to get his personal life in order before he can even begin focusing on football. 2017 almost seems too soon for the quarterback.

Not to mention, there is always the possibility of him facing trouble from the league for domestic violence. Former Browns general manager Ray Farmer echoed the sentiments of many and told Fowler that Manziel needs to focus on getting his health and life in order first.

"“I’m concerned for the person more than I am the player,” Farmer said. “I do hope Johnny finds the help he needs to put himself back together.”"

Manziel hasn’t given up the dream of playing football, but the road back will be a long one.
