16. player. 18. The Boston Celtics have three 1st round picks in this draft, however it’s not likely that all three make the opening roster for 2016-17. The Celtics have 14 players on the books for next season however if Danny Ainge stays consistent with his past moves, then trades, signings and the like will be made to try and improve this up-and-coming young team. <p>Adding a player with the versatility of Denzel Valentine with a mid-first round pick would be far too enticing to pass up. Valentine had an explosive senior year at Michigan State University averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.7 assists while playing pretty much any position Coach Izzo needed. Along with his ridiculous stat line, Valentine was also super efficient shooting 46 percent from the field and a stellar 44 percent from 3-point range.</p> <p>Valentine has NBA size for a shooting guard at 6-6, 250 pounds and while his ball handling isn’t elite by any means, he has the ability to play on the ball as well.
