81. This is the final pick — of two — of the first round for the Toronto Raptors. Up to this point they have added Timothe Luwawu to their future core and Dejounte Murray is a nice high risk, high reward selection late in the first. Murray has a ton of upside, however right now he’s simply not a very efficient player on either end of the court.
Murray is a 6-5, 19-year old point guard who averaged 16.1 points and 4.5 assists in the University of Washington’s high octane offense last season. Unfortunately he only shot 42 percent overall from the field and a putrid 29 percent from 3-point distance. His strongest attribute right now is his ability to attack the paint, putting pressure on opposing defenses, however his lack of shooting ability and wiry frame might hinder that ability at the next level.

The enigmatic wing with a 6-10 wingspan has the potential and length to be a solid defender eventually — the issue there is that he’s a below average defender currently and really looked lost a lot of times as a freshman for the Huskies. People are going to fall in love with Murray’s workouts because he’s very skilled, but he has a ways to go regarding putting those skills into motion in live play.

To read more about Dejounte Murray, <a href=.
