NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Best Bet:
Martin Perez ($7,100): You know itās a light slate whenĀ a guy that has allowed a .329 average to the opposing team is the top play, but here you have to look deeper than just batting average. Perez, despite the high average, has only allowed four runs and no home runs. He has only walked 4 in 74 at bats. He has struck out nine, which is a pedestrian number, but this is the Astros. They strike out almost at will. Perez has the highest ceiling of the day.
Honorable Mention:
Collin McHugh ($6,900): The Rangers are hitting .375 off of McHugh, but when you take out the numbers of Robinson Chirinos, Shin-Soo Choo, and Josh Hamilton, it softens the blow some. They are responsible for one of the two homers against McHugh and three of the 12 runs. What to take away from this is that McHugh has struck out 21 in 104 at bats. That strikeout potential leaves him as a decent option, but he will give up runs.
Dark Horse:
Jeff Locke ($5,500): Locke racked up 29.3 DraftKings points on April 25th at Coors Field. That alone may make him the best option of the day, though he isnāt priced like it. Why? Because the strikeout potential is low, and, well, he is at Coors Field again. While he may not match the wizardry of April 25th, I feel slightly more comfortable with him that McHugh even.

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about āstackingā pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.
You know with the high average against Martin Perez that a few Astros are going to be on this list. Evan Gattis ($4,200) is 5-9 with a triple. Jake Marisnick ($3,200) is 3-7 with two doubles and two RBI against Perez. Jose Altuve ($5,400) is 7-18(.389) with a walk, four doubles, and a RBI.
Unfortunately for McHugh, there are plenty of Rangers that hit him well. Both Elvis Andrus ($3,500) and Adrian Beltre ($4,000) are 6-14(.429) against him. Andrus has one RBI and Beltre has two. Ian Desmond ($5,000) has only faced McHugh twice, but his one hit is a two run homer. Rougned Odor ($4,000) is 4-13(.308) with a double and two RBI. Mitch Moreland ($3,300) is 3-10 with a double and two RBI. Prince Fielder ($3,300) is an impressive 8-11(.727) with a walk and a RBI.
Nolan Arenado ($5,300) is 6-14(.429) with two walks, two doubles, the only homer against Jeff Locke, and four RBI. If damage is done, there is a good chance that Arenado will be involved. Charlie Blackmon ($5,100) is 3-6, but has no counting stats. Daniel Descalso ($3,100) is 4-5 with a RBI in his career off of Jeff Locke and could be worth a look if he plays.
Matt Joyce ($4,600) is 2-5 with a solo homer off of Chad Bettis, the only one that Bettis has allowed to the Pirates. Starling Marte ($5,500) may not play, but if he does, he is 4-6 with a RBI off Bettis. Andrew McCutchen ($5,100) is 3-6 with a RBI. Bettis has given up a lot of hits, but has managed to limit the damage against Pittsburgh. How long will his luck continue?
