Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 10 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Brian McCann, Yankees (4,100): McCann is finally starting to hit again, which is good news for Yankees fans and DFS players alike. After a recent drought, McCann has hit safely in three straight games, including a home run on Monday. He’ll face Detroit Tigers right-hander Mike Pelfrey, whom he knows well from their time as rivals in the NL East. McCann is 20-for-43 against Pelfrey in his career.
Welington Castillo, Diamondbacks (3,700): “Beef Welington” has six hits over his last five games, but hasn’t homered since early May. That could change Friday against Miami Marlins left-hander Justin Nicolino. Castillo is 2-for-3 with a homer against Nicolino and is hitting .339 against lefties this season.
High Value
James McCann, Tigers (3,200): McCann has four extra-base hits, including two home runs, in the month of June. He’s also hitting 130 points higher against lefties than he is against righties, so the matchup with New York Yankees southpaw CC Sabathia (3-4, 2.58 ERA) is a solid one. McCann looks like a strong value option at catcher.
Miguel Montero, Cubs (3,000): Montero also stands out as a strong value at catcher on Friday. He’s been quiet this season, but he’s still hitting nearly 40 points higher against righties than against lefties. He’s also 5-for-11 in his career against Atlanta Braves starter Bud Norris (1-7, 5.28 ERA).
