Identifying the top high salary and value first baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 10 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

David Ortiz, Red Sox (5,500): Are the Red Sox playing? Are they facing a right-handed pitcher? If the answer to those two questions is “yes,” play Ortiz! Seriously, he’s hitting .346 with 14 of his 16 home runs this season against righties. “Big Papi” leads the majors in RBIs (55) and is one of the most dangerous hitters in the game. He’s worth paying up for.

Paul Goldschmidt, Diamondbacks (5,000): “Goldy” has six hits over his last four games as his average continues to climb closer to the .300 mark. He’s also homered three times in his last 12 games, a positive sign that his power is starting to round into form. Goldschmidt gets a nice matchup with Miami Marlins lefty Justin Nicolino (2-3, 4.37 ERA).

High Value

Freddie Freeman, Braves (3,400): It’s been a long, long season for the Atlanta Braves, but Freeman continues to hold decent fantasy value. He’s an intriguing play on Friday against Chicago Cubs righty Jason Hammel, against whom he is 5-for-8 with two home runs in his career. For such a discounted price, Freeman is worth a roll of the dice.

Eric Hosmer, Royals (3,300): Hosmer’s price is majorly discounted, and we can thank Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale for that. It’s not usually wise to start players going up against Sale, but Hosmer is 12-for-36 in his career against the dominant lefty. That’s a solid track record of success. Hosmer’s ownership will be low, so he could be a nice contrarian play.
