Identifying the top high salary and value outfielder plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 10 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Charlie Blackmon, Rockies (5,300): The Rockies will probably be the most popular play of the day in DFS. But just because it’s the obvious play, doesn’t mean it’s the wrong play. Blackmon is 6-for-19 with three extra-base hits in his career against San Diego Padres righty Andrew Cashner. He’s hitting .304 against righties and .316 at the friendly confines of Coors Field. Blackmon is one of many Rockies players that makes for a solid play on Friday.
Nelson Cruz, Mariners (5,200): Cruz is a major reason the Mariners’ offense is one of the best in the majors. He’s homered five times in nine games since the start of June and draws a nice matchup on Friday with Texas Rangers lefty Derek Holland. Cruz is 4-for-14 with a pair of home runs in his career against Holland. Start Cruz with confidence on Friday.
High Value
Dexter Fowler, Cubs (4,100): Fowler is having a nice season as the Cubs’ leadoff hitter, batting .300 with seven home runs, 26 RBIs and six stolen bases. He’s a good bet to reach double-digit fantasy points for the third time in six games on Friday, when Chicago faces Atlanta Braves right-hander Bud Norris. Fowler is 4-for-6 in his career against Norris.
Chris Young, Red Sox (3,500): Boston has been the perfect landing spot for the veteran outfielder Young, who is hitting .310 through 36 games. If he’s in the lineup Friday, he’s an ideal value play against Minnesota Twins righty Tyler Duffey. Young has 17, nine and 17 fantasy points in his last three games, respectively, and should keep that momentum going against Duffey.
