DraftKings MLB picks for June 10

We get twoĀ full 15 game slates in one week! That leaves us plenty of good choices, but who are the best? Let’s check the stats!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Surprisingly, Matt Harvey has never faced the Brewers. Judging by the fact that he has given up just one run over his last two starts means he has righted the ship after a horrid start. He is a great play against the Brewers even if there aren’t any stats to back it up.

Sonny Gray has never faced the Reds, but he has solid against the Astros in his first start back from the DL. He looks safe to use here.

Junior Guerra has never faced the Mets, but you can likely find a less risky option, even at his price.

Anthony DeSclafani will make his first start of the season against Oakland, and while the Reds haven’t indicated anything pertaining to a pitch limit, there is a good chance that DeSclafani will have some rust.

Tyler Duffey will make his first career start against the Red Sox in Minneapolis. Trust me, you can do better. And this is coming from a Twins fan…..

Best Bets:

Clayton Kershaw ($13,900): Is it possible that Kershaw could be worth this price tag? It’s not possible. Try likely. The Giants are hitting a pathetic .165 against him in 381 at bats with just three homers and 15 runs. And, are you sitting down? Kershaw has racked up a whopping 114 strikeouts of the Giants hitters. True, Hunter Penceā€˜s 6-61(.098) mark with 16 strikeouts is not in the lineup, but not to worry. Plenty of other Giants regulars have struggled against the best pitcher in baseball as well.

Stephen Strasburg ($13,500): Yes, Strasburg is facing the Phillies, and left his last start with a mild calf strain. He shouldn’t be this close in price to Kershaw. The Phillies have hit only .209 off of Strasburg in 148 at bats with two homers, seven RBI, and 54 strikeouts, but those stats fall short of Kershaw’s dominance of the Giants. If you are willing to pay this much, shell out the extra $400 for Kershaw.

Marco Estrada ($10,700): Estrada has held his own against the Orioles so far. They are only hitting .178 off of Estrada in 107 at bats, but they have smacked seven home runs. The good news? They have struck out 31 times. As we saw with Marcus Stroman last night though, using anyone against the Orioles is a risk.

Honorable Mention:

Lance McCullers ($10,300): You know how I feel about small sample sizes, but this one is worth noting. The current Rays roster is just 1-23(.043) against McCullers with three walks and six strikeouts. McCullers could have a very nice night tonight if you are shopping outside the elite tier.

Jon Gray $(8,800): Gray has pitched well against the Padres so far in his young career. The Padres are only hitting .210 off of Gray in 62 at bats with a homer and five driven in, but what really sets Gray apart is the strikeouts. Gray has whiffed 24 of the 62 Padres he has faced. That kind of elite strikeout total makes him an enticing option.

Kevin Gausman ($8,600): Gausman has pitched very well against the Blue Jays so far in his career. The Jays are only hitting .179 off of Gausman in 56 at bats with only one homer and three runs scored while striking out 18 times. You are playing with fire a little bit when using a starter against an offense like the Jays or the Orioles, but the stats support it. Very well in this case.

Dark Horses:

Patrick Corbin ($5,500): He snapped Jake Arrietaā€˜s win streak in his last start, and now he gets a Marlins team that is hitting just .205 against him in 44 at bats with two homers, five RBI, and seven strikeouts. The low strikeout total caps his potential, but he should perform well for his price here, and has a great chance for a win against rookie Justin Nicolino.

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about ā€œstackingā€ pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.

The Royals have actually hit Chris Sale pretty well. Lorenzo Cain ($4,000) is 16-46(.348) with four doubles, three homers, and eight RBI against Sale. Alcides Escobar ($2,400) is 21-56(.375) with two walks, a double, and a solo homer. Even lefty Eric Hosmer($3,300) has gone 12-36 with a walk, a double, and two RBI against Sale. Both Kendrys Morales and Paulo Orlando have taken him deep and driven in five despite a combined 5-20 mark.

Play the ā€œMatt stackā€ for the Cardinals against Gerrit Cole tonight. Matt Holliday ($3,600) is 7-18(.389) with a walk, two doubles, and four RBI against Cole. Matt Carpenter ($5,000) is 9-24(.375) with three walks, a double, three homers, and five RBI off of Cole. Avoid Matt Adams though. He is just 2-13 against Cole, but as Meat Loaf said, Two Outta Three Aint Bad.

The Braves offense has been dreadful this year, but they have hit Jason Hammel hard in the past. Jeff Francoeur ($2,500) is 4-9 with a double against Hammel. Nick Markakis ($3,100) is 9-19(.474) with a homer and five RBI. A.J. Pierzynski ($2,600) is 3-10 with a homer and two RBI. Freddie Freeman ($3,400) is 5-8 with two walks, two homers, and five RBI against Hammel.

Ryan Flaherty ($2,300) is only 2-7 against Marco Estrada, but both hits are home runs. Don’t worry, it only gets worse from there. Pedro Alvarez, Chris Davis, Manny Machado, Jon Schoop, and Mark Trumbo have also homered against Estrada, but only Schoop and Trumbo are hitting better than .167 off of Estrada.

If Michael Wachaā€˜s 5.16 ERA isn’t enough to have you wanting to stack Pirates, here are some more stats for you. Francisco Cervelli ($3,100) is 3-10 with a walk, a homer, and five RBI against Wacha. John Jaso ($3,500) is 3-6 with a homer and two RBI. Andrew McCutchen ($4,200) is 12-22(.545) with two walks, two doubles, a triple, a homer, and three RBI against Wacha. Gregory Polanco ($5,300) is 7-17(.412) with two walks, two doubles, a triple, and a pair of RBI. And to think they did this when Wacha’s ERA was in the mid 3’s!

Even though Derek Holland has only given up 11 runs in the five starts since his 11 run disaster in Toronto, it still may be worth stacking some Mariners. Robinson Cano ($4,300) is 16-43(.372) with two walks, three doubles, a triple, two homers, and nine RBI against Holland. Nelson Cruz ($5,200) is only 4-14, but he does have two homers and four RBI. Chris Iannetta ($3,500) is 9-24(.375) with four walks, a double, a homer, and four RBI off of Holland. Ā Adam Lind ($2,700) is 6-15 (.400) with a homer and six RBI off of Holland. He is a sneaky play if the Mariners start him.

You probably want to stacks some Yankees against Mike Pelfrey, considering the current team is hitting .371 off of him in 140 at bats. Alex Rodriguez ($3,800) is 6-18 with two walks, a homer, and two RBI. Jacoby Ellsbury ($4,900) is 3-9 with a double, a triple, and three RBI. Brett Gardner ($4,600) is 7-18(.389), but has no counting stats or extra base hits. Brian McCann has torched Pelfrey. McCann ($4,100) is 20-43(.465) with seven walks, eight doubles, two homers, and 11 RBI against the former Met.

Andrew Cashner has done a great job of limiting damage against the Rockies, but Nolan Arenado, Charlie Blackmon, Nick Hundley, DJ LeMahieu, Mark Reynolds, Carlos GonzalezĀ and Gerardo Parra all are hitting better than .270 off of him. Perhaps the most incredible thing is that the Rockies haveĀ only hit twoĀ home runs off of Cashner in 124 career at bats!

Buster Posey ($3,100) is about the only Giant that has had any kind of success against Clayton Kershaw. Posey is only 18-82(.220), but he has two homers and seven RBI against the Dodgers’ ace.

Miguel Montero ($3,000) is 5-11(.455) with two walks, a double, and four RBI against Bud Norris. Jason Heyward ($3,800) is 3-7 with a walk, a double, a homer, and four driven in against Norris. Chris Coghlan is a miserable 1-16(.063) against Norris, but he somehow has four RBI.

Adrian Gonzalez is cheap at $2,600 for tonight, and is 5-19(.263) with a walk, a double, a homer, and three RBI against Johnny Cueto. Chase Utley ($3,100) is 10-26(.385) with a walk, a double, a homer, and two RBI against Cueto.

Adrian Beltre ($3,300) is 13-45(.289) with two walks, two doubles, three homers, and five RBI against Hisashi Iwakuma. Rougned Odor ($3,500) is 7-18(.389) with a walk, a double, a homer, and three RBI against Iwakuma.

Melky Cabrera ($2,900) is 4-10 with a double, a homer, and two RBI against Ian Kennedy. Jimmy Rollins has also homered off of Kennedy, but he may not be in the lineup with Tyler Saladino playing the way he is.

Miguel Cabrera ($4,600) is 10-34(.294) with six walks, two doubles, two homers, and 12 RBI off of CC Sabathia. Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez have both homered off of Sabathia and driven in seven combined runs, but they are also just 13-61 between the two of them.

Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna both have two run homers against Patrick Corbin. They are also just 3-13 combined against him.

Daniel Murphy ($4,900) is 3-9 with a walk, two doubles, and a solo homer off of Jeremy Hellickson. Jayson Werth ($3,600) is only 3-14 against Hellickson, but all of those hits are for extra bases (two doubles, one homer) and he has driven in six.

Wil Myers ($4,900) is 3-8 with a double, a homer, and two RBI against Jon Gray. Matt Kemp has driven in three runs despite only two hits in nine at bats.
