Major League Baseball is back with a full Friday night of hardball action after some teams took the day yesterday to travel and get ready for their weekend series. All 30 teams are on the board tonight for daily fantasy baseball, so there are lots of options to go through in my FanDuel daily picks on the following slides.  My picks are designed to highlight the players with the current form and past track record that sets them and your fantasy team up for success tonight.

More from Boston Red Sox

The action tonight starts at 7:05 with seven games scheduled to get underway in the 7:00 hour.  There are a few divisional matchups like the Orioles @ Blue Jays and the Cardinals @ Pirates as well as an unusual interleague series between the Athletics and the Reds.  In the 8:00 window, there are three games highlighted by an AL Central showdown between the scuffling Royals and the surging White Sox.  To wrap up the evening, there are four games scheduled for 9:40 or later on the West Coast including the Dodgers and Giants meeting in San Francisco and the Rangers and Mariners tangling in Seattle. As far as weather goes, the only serious threats of rain are in Colorado where the Padres visit the Rockies and in Minnesota for the Red Sox-Twins game. The Rockies look like they’ll be able to get the game in even if it is delayed, but things are much less certain for the Sox and Twins in Minnesota where a rainout looks very possible. If you go with any players from those two games must make sure to keep an eye on the forecast.

As we continue into the dog days of summer with my full fantasy baseball coverage, my FanDuel daily picks will be posted each morning here at FanSided. My picks are designed to provide you the information you need to build your own lineup that can bring home a win for your team. In order to help you find the position and price-point that you need, there are a variety of options on each slide with high-salary options, mid-range options, and high-value options at each position. For starting pitchers and outfielders, I’ve separated my picks into high-salary and high-value options on separate slides while the other positions each get one slide per position with multiple pricing options.  I base each of my picks on the current form of each player and the matchups each player will face in tonight’s contest game.

In my daily basketball picks, it was very helpful to rank my picks every morning using stars after each selection to show the strength of the pick. I’ll continue that rating system as I move over to cover fantasy baseball.  For a full explanation of the rating system, check out the last slide of this post, but in short, more stars means more confidence (on a point-per-dollar basis). Also on the final slide of the post, you can see how I’m putting together the my most confident picks into my lineups for today’s competition. I suggest you build your own customized team with the players you like the most, but you’re welcome to check out my lineups and use them as a place to get started.

In my FanDuel daily picks, all salary references and references to “fantasy points” refer to FanDuel pricing and scoring.  If you are looking for similar coverage specifically for DraftKings, check the box above for related posts or find the latest on the fantasy baseball hub.

If you have any questions about my picks for today or any of our FanSided fantasy coverage, you can leave them at the bottom of the page in the comments section.  For an even quicker response, you can find me throughout the day on Twitter @FansidedFantasy. Make sure to follow on Twitter for any late-breaking lineup news as well and any adjustments as lineups come out throughout this Thursday.

If you find my picks and analysis helpful and would like to check out my DFS fantasy baseball posts each morning, the easiest way to find the FanDuel daily picks is to drop a bookmark on our fantasy baseball hub or follow on Twitter where I’ll tweet out the links each day when my picks go live.

There are some big names on the mound tonight, so let’s see who to give the starting nod to as we look at the high-salary SP to get our FanDuel daily picks for Friday underway.
