2. The schedule features plenty of chances against elite talent

The worst thing about playing in the SEC is the level of talent on each team in the conference. The best thing about playing in the SEC is the level of talent on each team in the conference, especially when trying to win awards like the Heisman.

In 2016 the Aggies travel to play the Auburn Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide. At home, they host the Tennessee Volunteers, LSU Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks and Ole Miss Rebels.

Those are some tough games, and then of course they start the season off hosting the UCLA Bruins in the season opener. Outside of these teams there are some teams like UTSA and Prairie View A&M, which could help the defensive end pad his stats some.

The games against the bigger name schools will surely be tough, but they will all be high profile, which will make people take even more notice of Garrett should he continue to improve on his stats (which he has done in each of his first two season in the NCAA).

It’s one thing to put up big stats in college, it’s a whole different thing to put up huge stats while playing against teams stacked with NFL talent on the offensive side of the ball.
