The third leg of the Triple Crown has finally arrived as the 2016 Belmont Stakes are upon horse racing fans with the best Thoroughbreds in the country heading to Belmont Park in Elmont, NY on Saturday, June 11. While there won’t be a Triple Crown winner this year, Exaggerator will be looking for bragging rights with Nyquist out of the field and the other 12 horses in the field would love to upset him in the 148th running of the Belmont Stakes.

Exaggerator of course was the winner of the Preakness Stakes at the end of May, becoming the first horse to ever defeat Kentucky Derby Winner Nyquist. However, the Derby winner is out of the Belmont Stakes due to an illness, only further complicating the look for the race at Belmont Park.
Obviously there is a whole weekend of festivities at Belmont Park leading up to the 148th running of the Belmont Stakes, but the actual running of the 148th Belmont Stakes has a post time of 6:32 p.m. ET. However, the pre-race coverage will go from 3-5 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network with NBC picking it up from 5-7 p.m. ET (the portion including the Stakes. Post-race coverage will be on NBC Sports Network from 7-730 p.m. ET.
