Warriors center Andrew Bogut suffered a scary knee injury in Game 5 of the NBA Finals and had to be carried off of the court

Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals, which put the onus on several other players for the Golden State Warriors as they tried to defeat and oust the Cleveland Cavaliers. One such player was center Andrew Bogut, but the big Aussie center was at the center of a scary scene at the start of the second half.

As J.R. Smith went up for the layup though, he came down before Andrew Bogut was done trying to contest the shot. As the Warriors center came back to the ground, Smith’s momentum carried him forward right into the left knee of the Aussie big man. Bogut immediately went down to the floor after letting out an awful noise in some serious pain:

Even worse than the noise that he made and even worse than how the injury looked is the fact that he was in so much pain that he just stayed on the ground through three separate possessions without moving because he was on the ground writhing in pain.

The big man was then carried off the floor and helped back into the locker room.

While it’s impossible to know what happened to that knee from just looking at the video we have, that’s a tough fall and a compromising physical position for anyone—but especially for a player the size of Andrew Bogut. For his sake, though, let’s hope the center is fine.
