Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 13 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Buster Posey, Giants (4,100): Posey has missed time recently with a thumb ailment, but when healthy, he’s still baseball’s best overall catcher. His average against righties this season (.229) isn’t great, but he’s had success in the past against Milwaukee Brewers starter Chase Anderson (3-for-7, three RBIs). None of the catchers on Monday’s slate are overly expensive, so Posey’s a great play.
Jonathan Lucroy, Brewers (3,900): Monday’s game between the Giants and Brewers features the top two fantasy catchers in Posey and Lucroy. Both are similarly priced and both have great matchups. Lucroy is 8-for-21 with four extra-base hits and four RBIs against Giants veteran righty Matt Cain, who is a shell of his former self at this point in his career.
High Value
Welington Castillo, Diamondbacks (3,300): Castillo has five hits over his last three games and nine overall since the start of June. He’s had more success against left-handers this season, but his numbers against Los Angeles Dodgers righty Mike Bolsinger (3-for-8) are encouraging. “Beef Welington” is a solid play at home on Monday.
Salvador Perez, Royals (3,000): Perez’s career numbers against Cleveland Indians starter Carlos Carrasco (4-for-18) are below average, but anytime the price tag of a player of this caliber drops to this level, he’s worth consideration. Perez has seven hits over his last four games, including a pair of home runs.
