Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 13 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Max Scherzer, Nationals (12,200): Scherzer is always an elite play. He’s topped 25 fantasy points in five of his last six outings, a stretch that includes three double-digit strikeout performances. He’ll face the Chicago Cubs on Monday, a dangerous lineup to be sure, but also one that swings and misses a lot. Scherzer costs a pretty penny, but he almost always returns value.
Zack Greinke, Dodgers (11,200): Think Greinke will be motivated to face his old team? He has 30-plus fantasy points in three of his last four starts and hasn’t even allowed a run in his last two starts. After a slow start to the season, Greinke is quickly becoming the ace the Diamondbacks envisioned when signing him to a massive offseason contract.
High Value
Wei-Yin Chen, Marlins (8,000): Chen has been inconsistent lately, tallying 16-plus fantasy points in two of his last four starts, but also less than two fantasy points in the other two starts. Expect a bounce-back outing Monday on the road against the San Diego Padres. Petco Park is a notorious pitcher’s park and the last-place Padres rank just 25th in batting average (.237).
R.A. Dickey, Blue Jays (7,400): Like Chen, Dickey has been susceptible to highs and lows. Case in point, his last four starts from a fantasy points perspective: 8.00, 22.20, 3.20, 16.80. Following that trend alone, he’s due for a bounce-back effort Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies have lost four straight and feature many young players that could struggle with the knuckleball. Dickey is an interesting option on Monday’s short slate.
