DraftKings MLB picks for June 13

We get a ten game slate on Monday. That leaves us plenty of good choices, but who are the best? Let’s check the stats!

More from DraftKings

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Youngster Jerad Eickhoff has never faced the Blue Jays, and though he is facing R.A. Dickey, I still wouldn’t recommend him against this hard hitting lineup.

Colin Rea has never faced the Marlins, but his 4.74 ERA is a red flag even against a team that hasn’t scored a ton of runs. The Marilns are certainly capable. I would pass on this one.

Rookie Aaron Blair has never faced the Reds, but his ERA is 7.13. Oh, and he plays for a team that doesn’t score many runs. Don’t even think about it. Don’t trust his counterpart Daniel Wright either. His ERA is also on the wrong side of 7.

Best Bets:

Zack Greinke ($11,200):Ā Greinke has been dominant lately, and has been nearly as good against his former team in his career. The current Dodgers are hitting only .196 against Grienke in 56 at bats with one homer, five RBI, and a whopping 17 strikeouts. Greinke has put up 30 or more DraftKings points in three of his last four starts. He should at least come close against his former team.

Carlos Carrasco ($10,800):Ā The Royals are playing pretty well right now, but history is on Carrasco’s side. The Champs are hitting only .228 against Carrasco in 184 at bats with only four homers and 14 RBI with 50 strikeouts. Two of those home runs were hit by the injured Alex Gordon. The other two are by Drew Butera and Kendrys Morales, who are a combined 3-18 against Carrasco.

Honorable Mention:

Kyle Hendricks ($9,400):Ā He will have a hard time getting a win opposing Max Scherzer, but the Nationals have been downright awful against Hendricks. The current roster is a pathetic 6-49(.122) with only a solo homer to show for it with 12 strikeouts. I don’t care who he is facing, this is a sign of dominance.

Wei-Yin Chen ($8,000):Ā While the Padres are hitting a solid .243 against Chen in 74 at bats, he has allowed only one homer and just three runs. Three! He has only struck out 12, but his not allowing runs will make up for that.

Dark Horses:

Sean Manaea ($6,000):Ā Manaea had one of the best starts of his rookie season against Texas back on May 16th. Manaea gave up only one run on four hits while striking out seven in 6.2 innings. Of course, using a rookie with a 6.20 ERA is always a risk, no matter who they are playing.

Cesar Ramos ($4,000):Ā Ramos has spent most of his career in the bullpen, which means that he likely wont go past five innings, if he even lasts that long. The good news is that the A’s have only hit .195 off of him in 41 at bats. More bad news? They have scored ten runs while only striking out seven times.

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about ā€œstackingā€ pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.

Luckily for Edison Volquez, Michael Brantley is still hurt. Brantley is 7-11 in his career against Volquez. There are a few other Indians that could make noise though. Lonnie Chisenhall ($2,900) is 5-12 with a walk, a double, a triple, and three RBI against Volquez. Jason Kipnis ($3,700) is 6-17(.353) with two walks, two doubles, and a solo homer. Carlos Santana is only 3-15, but two of those hits are home runs.

You may want to stack Tigers against James Shields, and not just because he has given up 17 runs in his last two starts. MIguel Cabrera ($4,300) is 19-55(.345) with five walks, eight doubles, two homers, and eight RBI. Victor Martinez ($4,100) is 13-47(.277) with four doubles, a homer, and six RBI. J.D. Martinez ($5,000) is 6-18 with a walk, a double, a homer, and two driven in. Ian Kinsler ($5,300) is only 10-51(.196) but he has homered twice against Shields. Mike Aviles ($2,600) is worth using if he plays. Aviles is 10-33(.303) with a walk, a double, two homers, and three RBI off Shields.

The Twins have hit Jered Weaver pretty well. They have hit .264 off of him in 148 at bats, but what really stands out is the 21 runs scored. Joe Mauer (3,800) is 9-34(.265) with three walks, two doubles, and four RBI. Trevor Plouffe ($3,300) is 7-17(.412) with three walks, three doubles, a homer, and eight RBI. Kurt Suzuki ($2,500) is 15-52(.288) with three walks, five doubles, a homer, and five RBI against Weaver.

Albert Pujols ($3,600) is 13-28(.464) with five doubles, three homers, and an impressive 11 RBI against Ricky Nolasco. Yunel Escobar ($3,400) is 14-34(.412) with three walks, three doubles, a homer, and five RBI off Nolasco. Mike Trout ($4,700) is ā€œonlyā€ 3-10 with a RBI double off Nolasco.

Ryan Braun ($3,900) is 9-25(.360) with a walk, a double, a triple, a homer, and six RBI off of Matt Cain. Aaron Hill ($2,800) is 9-30(.300) with a double, two triples, a homer, and three RBI against Cain. Jonathan Lucroy ($3,900) is 8-21(.381) with two doubles, a triple, a homer, and four RBI against Cain.

Chase Utley ($3,200) is the only current Dodger that has had any kind of success against Zack Greinke in his career. Utley is 4-12 with a walk, two doubles, a homer, and two RBI against Greinke.

While most of the Royals have struggled against Carlos Carrasco, Eric Hosmer ($3,700) and Lorenzo Cain ($3,300) have held their own. Hosmer is 6-19(.316) with three walks, two doubles, a triple, and three RBI. Cain is 8-22(.364) with a double, but no other counting stats.

Bryce Harper ($4,500) is 2-7 with a solo homer against Kyle Hendricks. He is the only current Nat to drive in a run against Hendricks!

Derek Norris ($3,700) is 3-9 with a solo homer against Wei-Yin Chen.

Ben Zobrist ($3,300) is only 5-22(.227) against Max Scherzer, but three of those five hits are home runs and he has driven in six.
