Irish, Swedish soccer fans set aside Euros clash to sing ABBA together (Video)
Swedish and Irish soccer fans set aside their differences ahead of their two teams playing in the 2016 Euros to sing ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen’ in the streets
One of the biggest storylines coming out of the 2016 Euros has undoubtedly been the clashes between several groups of fans—most notably those of England and Russia as both groups have been issued a warning by UEFA. Unless singing old pop songs is against the rules as well, getting a warning isn’t something that the Irish and Swedish soccer fans are going to have to worry about.
Prior to Ireland vs. Sweden in the Euros on Monday, fans of both teams filled the streets of France. Rather than the two fan bases dueling and getting violent one another, they instead became a choir to sing along to “Dancing Queen” by the Swedish pop group ABBA:
In case you wanted more of this (of course you do), here’s a bit more of the fans singing together in the streets:
This is awesome in so many ways. Not only does it stand in stark contrast to the fans fighting and being violent in the streets, but who also doesn’t love singing along to an ABBA song? If there’s anyone that doesn’t, they definitely aren’t Irish or Swedish soccer fans in attendance at the Euros.
